The Plot of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a collection of three novellas—The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight—which take place in the same world as the main ASoIaF series, but set 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
The Hedge Knight follows the story of Dunk, a knight who becomes the squire of a traveling hedge knight named Ser Arlan of Pennytree. The two make their way across Westeros, participating in a tourney, getting involved in a conspiracy, and finally being swept up in one of the many wars that have plagued the land.#AKnightOfTheSevenKingdoms #TheHedgeKnight #GeorgeRRMartin #ASoIaF #PrequelSeries #GameOfThrones
The Talent Behind the Scenes
The prequel series is set to be co-executive produced by Martin himself, alongside Vince Gerardis, and Daniel Zelman. The Hedge Knight will be adapted for TV by English screenwriter and producer, Jane Goldman, who has previously worked on films like Kingsman: The Secret Service and X-Men: First Class.
The show currently has no set release date but is expected to premiere after the highly anticipated final season of Game of Thrones, which is set to air sometime in 2019.#GeorgeRRMartin #VinceGerardis #DanielZelman #JaneGoldman #PrequelSeries #GameOfThrones
What This Means for the Fans
While there’s no guarantee that the new prequel show will live up to the popularity and critical acclaim of its predecessor, it gives fans a chance to dive deeper into the rich and complex universe that Martin has created.
ASoIaF has captured the imagination of millions of people around the world, and for a while, it seemed like Game of Thrones was the only way to experience that world on screen. But with HBO’s announcement, fans can now look forward to more immersive and engaging content.#ASoIaF #GameOfThrones #PrequelSeries #HBO #AKnightOfTheSevenKingdoms #TheHedgeKnight
